Choosing game mechanics and adapting them to environmental issues

My three game mechanics I've chosen to work with:

Game mechanic one - Discovery.
"Also called Exploration, players love to discover something, to be surprised. This also can be seen in the Game Feature, Discovery. Discovery encourages players to discover new pages within a website. This drives up page views and time-on-site." http://gamification.org/wiki/Game_Mechanics

Game mechanic two - Points.
"Points are a running numerical value given for any single action or combination of actions." http://gamification.org/wiki/Game_Mechanics

Game mechanic three -Urgent optimism
"Extreme self motivation. The desire to act immediately to tackle an obstacle combined with the belief that we have a reasonable hope of success." http://gamification.org/wiki/Game_Mechanics

I've chosen these three aspects of game mechanics because I like how each one interacts with gameplay. I really like the idea behind urgent optimism because of the fact you get so determined within the game to finish a task that you won't stop until its finished. "The idea that in proper games an 'epic win' or just 'win' is possible and therefore always worth acting for." (TED Talks).
Also points give you a motivation or that feeling of winning which is rewarding in our minds. Points are a good way to keep track of score or to set goals, this could be a very good function in my game because points have so much functionality to them.
Lastly the discovery mechanic I thought would be interesting to work with, exploring environments gives players the chance to learn new things are be aware of there surroundings. It gives you a feeling of curiosity to find out what is over there and what would happen if I did that.

NOW!
TO THE REAL BUSNIESS!
Adapting environmental issues with these game mechanics and also adding features on top of those mechanics.

Ideas will come soon in newer posts...
