More research..

- Transmitter
- Receiver
- Power source such as batteries
- A motor

My idea is to take the key pad from my phone and then solder a couple of wires onto four numbers on the back of the keypad. (2,4,6,8). Then these wires will connect to a transmitter. The signal will now be received by the arduino which is attached to the motor of the RC Car and the car itself.

Here is a basic form of the code I want to replicate:

If I press 8, turn make the motor run and move the car forward.
If I press 2, turn the motor on and move backwards.
If I press 4, turn motor on and make wheels turn left.
If I press 6, turn motor on and make wheels turn right.

Also I could possibly make a personalized remote instead of using the phone keypad because you can't solder on the back of the keypad. So instead I could make my own remote control for the RC Car and maybe it could show all the hardware inside to show how it works.

New idea of using the remote to control the RC car, (personalized remote) also adding an alarm to the RC Car as intended. But when you walk past it the alarm will go off meaning get out the way. Or if it hits a wall the alarm will go off meaning you've done something wrong.
