Description of project 211
Depression

This is my Project Two for Digital Video Creation (211).
I've named this video "Little to Live for".
My emotion was depression, which can cause sadness and loneliness.
The aim was to portray this emotion in an abstract way.

My clip is heavily narrative based.
The clip starts off with a girl in bed just waking up and wondering about reality. When she sits up and looks towards the windows, the windows open up which means your entering her world. Once inside her world you see a couple of clips of people disappearing, extending that feeling of loneliness and feeling like you have no place in the world. Once the windows close, it means your back into reality which leads to shots of the girl biting here nails and rubbing her hands showing that feeling of not being wanted. The scene ends with multiple cross fades of the girl hiding away from reality underneath the safety of her covers.

Symbolism:
The symbolism I used in my movie was how the people start to disappear/fading creating that feeling of loneliness, which then leads to depression.  Also creating the feeling of not being wanted.

Colors:
The colors that I’ve used in the scenes were quite bright so I had to color correct multiple scenes to make them more darker and blue. Why blue? I chose dark deep colors and chose blue because it’s a sad and lonely color, which would portray the feeling of depression quite well.
